The brain behind My Bionic Brain®
The original BRAIN BOOK® Life and Work Management System has had a successful history as a vocational rehabilitation resource since 1993. It was developed by Kathy Moeller, who experienced a brain injury herself in 1990 when the car she was driving hit a bus in a head-on collision.
After many months and many thousands of dollars of cognitive rehabilitation, and unable to return to work, Kathy created the original, paper-based BRAIN BOOK® System in response to this frustration. After being asked to create “BRAIN BOOKs” for others, distribution began in 1993. Field tested by hundreds of individuals with brain injury since that time, it was re-named in 2010 to My Bionic Brain® and converted into a digital cognitive prosthetic by a team of graduate software engineering students at Seattle University.
